Suitably Sustainable

We were recently contacted by the Children’s hospital in Brisbane from their sustainability department. They reached out to us because they had empty buckets from disposable wipes they use at the hospital and believed the painting industry might find them useful. They weren’t wrong! Painters love buckets and they pay $5-$7 per bucket! The Children’s hospital go through at least 100 buckets a month and wanted to try and be more sustainable by finding other uses for these empty buckets.

It was a win-win for ourselves, our painters and the hospital. We were able to provide something free of charge to our painters that usually cost a decent amount and the hospital is now able to reduce their waste by providing a secondary life to these plastic buckets!

Paint comes in large drums like 10L and 15L. Therefore, to make it easier to move around a job site paint is poured into smaller more manageable buckets. The best thing is the buckets are clean! You couldn’t actually get buckets that are cleaner than these as they had disposable cleaning wipes in them!

We now have an ongoing relationship with the Children’s hospital where we are more than happy to take away their empty buckets for them that once would go straight in the bin!
