Project Description
Residential Painting and Apartment/ Unit
In keeping with the old world charm and theme of the building and to add a theatrical flair, the Lord Mayor even arrived in a horse drawn carriage. The high quality of the painting, workmanship and the exposure helped to put Rochele Painting on the map as a prominent painter in South East Queensland. Rocco Festa, the founding director, explains that “In some cases 6 coats of paint was applied to achieve a perfect finish to this townhouse painting job”.
The owners at the time requested the original colour scheme to be replicated and even got their hands on a copy of the original typewriter produced colour schedule. While the colour scheme was available for viewing, our colour consultant still played an important role in the process as many of the original colours detailed in the colour schedule no longer existed and had to be precisely colour matched.
Our client had this to say about the end result after the townhouse painting “Everything went right. The painters were professional and handled the site access issues that are unique to the location, without drama. The ongoing communication during the job was excellent also.”
We have painted many iconic buildings within South East Queensland since we were first established in 1975 but the painting of the Spring Hill terrace townhouses would still be, even to this day, one of the most memorable and rewarding projects to complete
It’s important to remember when you’re dealing with architecture that has a history as rich as these buildings, that you are helping to continue telling the story for decades to come. Townhouse painting brings life to the look and helps to keep the spirit alive.
To this day, the townhouses still stand proud in Spring Hill. They have been bought and sold over the years and new owners have breathed new life into them by doing townhouse exterior painting. Each now sits as a different colour, reminiscent of the ‘Painted Ladies’ in San Francisco – a striking contrast of colours from one to the next. Rochele Painting even had the honour of completing the townhouse painting for a new owner in the mid 2010’s. It was a pleasure to revisit and reminisce on the time that we originally painted there. Hopefully over the years we will have the privilege to repaint more.
