Project Description
1920s Queenslander Residential Painting
Residential Painting and Queenslander/ Timber Home
We completed a full exterior repaint on this stunning Queenslander home, originally built in the 1920s, in Tarragindi. This beautiful house featured much of its original timber and intricate details, so we were delighted to take on the project. We used Wattyl products throughout the project to prime and prepare the home. The client selected the colours through our colour consultation service with Rochele Interiors, opting for a modern look, with beige, white and dark grey.
Throughout this job we paid special attention to the age of the house. Being almost 100 years old, the house was very detailed, and contained original timber in many areas that we carefully prepared and primed before painting. True to its age and the architectural styles of the 1920s, there were many intricate aspects of the house that we painted. This included the batten sweeps, stair railings with carved flower designs, detailed iron door frames, window frames, intricate lattice work, balcony rafters, gables, and French doors. Throughout the project, we also painted the fascia, gutters, and awnings which required height access. For this we utilised scaffolding to safely reach these areas. In addition, we completed a full repaint on the carport of the house, including the garage door, and we also prepared and recoated all the decking around the house’s exterior.
The overall results of the project were stunning. We were delighted to bring new life to this historical home, and most importantly, the client was over the moon with the finished product and our attention to detail throughout.
