On March 10th, Rochele’s Nicky, Karen and Sarah attended the 6th annual International Women’s Day Lunch, hosted by Awesome Women in Construction. The event takes place every year on March 8th and celebrates women’s achievements while also raising awareness about gender parity.
Over 400 guests attended the event to listen to inspiring speeches from keynote speakers. The highlight of the day was a presentation from Karen Jacobsen, also known as the ‘GPS Girl’, who is the original voice of the Australian Siri. Her speech, titled “Recalculate – Directions for Driving Performance Success”, empowered attendees to navigate change and make effective decisions.
Another memorable speech was given by Keeley Tilbrook, the latest ‘Professional of the Year’ and ‘Young Achiever’ Award Winner. At just 17 years old, Keeley has made an impressive impact with her commitment to completing her electrical apprenticeship at Dawson Electric. She shared her journey and inspired attendees with her passion and dedication.
