Rochele Pasta & Wine Masterclass with Ripiena
News
At Rochele, good workmanship starts long before a brush ever touches a wall. It starts with safety. In that spirit, our team recently stepped away from the job site to refresh their first aid training with Katie from Link CPR – building skills that matter not just for work, but for life.
At the heart of this training was a focus on CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), because being prepared to jump into action in an emergency can truly save lives.
First aid training gives our people the confidence to act when it counts most. On the job, we work in all kinds of environments – on ladders and scaffolding, in high-access areas, busy homes, bustling offices, and other shared spaces. We plan carefully and work methodically, but things don’t always go to plan. A fall. A cut. Someone feeling unwell or even suddenly collapsing before help arrives.
Knowing what to do in those first few minutes can make a real difference – especially in critical situations like a cardiac emergency. Every second counts. An immediate response, such as starting CPR when a person’s breathing or heartbeat has stopped, can mean the difference between life and death while waiting for professional medical help. Quick, decisive action keeps oxygen circulating and buys precious time until paramedics arrive.
But first aid isn’t only about the workday. These are skills our team carries with them everywhere – from our project sites and offices to our homes and local communities. A cardiac emergency or accident can happen anywhere. That’s why the ability to perform CPR or give first aid is as valuable in the office kitchen or at a family barbecue as it is on a construction site.
It’s about being prepared to look after the people around you, wherever you are. When our team members know how to react swiftly – whether a co-worker on site loses consciousness or a friend at a weekend game needs help – they feel empowered to step in rather than stand by.
For us, investing in first aid and CPR training isn’t a box to tick. It’s part of how we care for our people, reduce risk in every environment we work in, and honour the trust our clients place in us whenever we’re invited into their space.
Educating our team is part of our responsibility:
Safe work is good work. And good work lasts.
A sincere thank you to Katie and the Link CPR team for delivering practical, engaging, and truly life-saving training. Our crew walked away better prepared – and reminded that caring for each other is part of doing our job well.
We also left with one or two songs firmly stuck in our heads: “Stayin’ Alive” by the Bee Gees and “Pink Pony Club” by Chappell Roan. (It turns out first aid training leaves a lasting impression in more ways than one.)
